Aurora

Bordered by the majestic Sierra Madre ranges to the east and the vast Pacific Ocean on the west, lie the eight municipalities that comprise the alluring province of Aurora: Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dingalan, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora and San Luis. With a total land area of 309,860 hectares, 60% of which is still heavily forested, and a lengthy coastline, the province boasts of its vast natural resources which have remained largely untapped.

While farming and fishing are still the main sources of income for the local populace, Aurora's strategy for development also capitalizes on maximizing these resources by introducing value-adding activities. The main products are coconut, banana, corn, coffee, peanuts, citrus and pineapple.  A screwpine plant known as sabutan is abundant in the area, making products out of sabutan as the model OTOP (One Town One Product) of the province.

With the recent improvements on the area of infrastructure development, the province is now beginning to open its doors to investment and tourism development. It is now becoming a favorite destination of businessmen and tourists alike both foreign and local because of its natural wealth and beauty and finely crafted products. Republic Act 9490, the law establishing the Aurora Special Economic Zone, is expected to trigger economic growth not only in the province but in adjoining provinces as well and would make the eastern Luzon seaboard an investment haven.
